Downloading the Cyber Detective program from the website is easy. It installs itself quickly and adds a shortcut icon to the desktop
and the program to the Windows Startup menu. Print these instructions before going any further.

The Download

  1. Read all instructions on the download page and scroll down to the download area. You will be downloading the Cyber Detective 8.0. (CDSetup8.exe)
  2. Click the left mouse button on the click here button.
  3. A Dialogue box will appear and ask whether to run the program or save to disk. Choose "Save to disk", but DO NOT put a disk in the A: drive. This "disk" refers to your hard drive.
  4. Hit the save button. If the box that says "Close this dialogue box" is checked, uncheck it.
  5. When the download is complete it is time to install the program, downloading and installing are two different processes. Internet Explorer users click open. Netscape users go to your download folder and double click the CDSetup8 icon.
  6. Double click on the CDSetup8 icon. A pop up dialogue box appears telling you that you are about to install Cyber Detective 8.0, and asks if you would like to continue. Left click on Yes.
  7. This starts the self-extraction of the program. You will see another pop up dialogue box, simply left click on Next. This brings you to another pop up dialogue box (the folder you want it the Cyber Detective set up in). It is programmed to automatically put it into the program files group. Left click on Yes. The setup will then add the program icons to the start up menu. Left click on Install. Voila!!! The process is complete.
  8. You should now be able to go to your desktop and click on the Cyber Detective 8.0 icon to launch the program. You will enter your serial number to log in the first time you launch the program.
